The stock market started this abbreviated holiday week with some initial excitement over the weekend news of a debt ceiling but faded quickly into the session.
The S&P 500 remained above its resistance level and is looking a little more positive, while the Nasdaq Composite continued the uptrend.
The sectors were mixed and the VIX closed flat.
