Our long weekend from the last one will now merge into this coming one. However, next week will be a busy period.
During Thursday's trading session, the major indices experienced a decline but managed to recover from their intraday lows around mid-session without any discernible catalyst. The S&P 500, Nasdaq Composite, and Dow Jones Industrial Average were initially down by as much as 1.4%, 1.6%, and 1.5%, respectively, but by the close, their losses ranged from 0.8% to 1.1%.

All US sectors closed negative as did the main Euro averages closed negative
The VIX gained 9% on the day.
