Monday saw the U.S. Open after Easter but with less than average volume, partly because most of Europe was closed for a bank holiday. The S&P 500 managed to close slightly above Friday's close, while the Nasdaq closed fractionally lower.
Most of the sectors found some positive in the session but VIX did too and gained to just below 19.
